Wedding Dresses

My best friend, Jenna is getting married sixteen months from now. Being in Korea, I will only have ten months to plan with her. Being a lover of design, weddings, and Jenna, it has been pure torture to watch the planning continue without my support and input. As a result, I have spent countless hours on wedding sites conjuring up potential dresses, bouquets, venues, etc.

This is going to turn into a multiple entry blog, starting with dresses of course.

If only I had a petite frame, I would love the light and fine feel of these.

Details and colors I hope to incorporate.

Amazing back details. I love the lace and tiny buttons. Yes, the back matters!

These styles are far more practical for my thicky shape.

Colors... transpires into Peacocks

I start with an idea [Colors or Icons] for a blog, then remember that I am very specific and seek inspiration from few things. In looking for favorite colors, I was reminded of my love for peacocks. Here are a couple photos of my favorite products featuring peacock feathers.

I also have a fondness for mustards, puke greens, and flashy magentas.

Icons... transpires into Rachel Bilson

In gathering pictures for this blog, themed fashion icons, I discovered that it's mostly Rachel Bilson that I idolize (not to go against my beliefs ;). I also love Kate Hudson, Nicole Richie and Lauren Conrad... tacky, I know, as they mostly follow the trends that have been set before them or advised to them, but they are real and easily relatable. They are all fabulous in their effortless (I tried really hard to look effortless) ways.

Why is it that I always want what I shouldn't have? My favorite foods are wheat and milk products, yet I'm gluten and lactose intolerant. I admire their flowy frocks, and short shorts, yet couldn't pull them off for the likes of me. I should be channeling Scarlett Johansson and Selma Hayek with their curvy bodies. If that is such a desired figure, than why does everything look better on waifs? I say it like I want it, but the reality is, I am inside on a beautiful day eating chips in bed while dreaming of a better body... not gonna happen! Onto the icons...

Anthropologie

I'm not gonna lie, I thought about putting clothes on here b/c I don't want to seem jewelry obsessed, but maybe I am. It is one of the few things that fits no matter the size. However, one of my coworkers gained a little weight and now her wedding ring doesn't fit. Should I be buying that a size too big too, so I can grow into it like I didn't my soccer cleats?

The purpose of that paragraph was to explain why there are no pics of clothing in this post. It's because I literally love everything in that store. I would have to say, that besides the second hand store located across from it on 50th in France in Edina, MN, this is my favorite store. My body would be blessed to be draped in any of its fabrics.

Introducing http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/index.jsp, one of the most eclectic "chains" if five all over the country can qualify them as that. They sell original designers and have a great sense for art. They also design interiors that are unlike anything - kind of an antique, 50's feel, but still modern and crisp adding interest and flare to any piece it touches.

James Avery Rings

This is the first thing that I wanted on record. Some of the most gorgeous rings. Aaron introduced me to this Christian designer from Texas. I love his organic, hard jewelry, especially all of the knot designs! I have been looking for something of the sort since I spotted a gold knot on a girl in my World Religions course at UST... Carrie :) She later became my friend and admitted that she didn't know where the ring came from. It was just a gift. There, that is the unnecessary background to my love for these rings found at http://www.jamesavery.com.

The Beginning

Since being in Korea, going on month nine soon, I have had a lot of free time too myself...
One of my favorite ways to spend that time, besides skyping my boyfriend, is with my other love... macbook searching the web, seeing what's fabulous, what's funny, and what's coveted. I have yet to nail down a way, a place to keep all these things together. Today, after spending my morning in the least useful way (browsing), I considered blogging a non-update on my other site http://kelseysinkorea.blogspot.com. Then it hit me. I shall start a site that is by me, for me. I don't expect anyone to ever read this, but if you are blessed enough ;) to find this, enjoy MY favorite things.
